My name is Mikki Caston. Will Caston, my husband, love of my life, and best friend of 12 years, was taken from me suddenly on September 20, 2014 in an ATV accident in Hocking Hills, Ohio. Will was just 38 years old. And Will died a hero. He was killed shortly after saving the life of a friend who had wrecked his ATV when driving over an embankment. Will ran down the hill and carried his friend back up the trail to safety and tended his injuries. While trying to drive the ATV back up the hill, it flipped and rolled 3 times, killing Will instantly.
In life, Will was so generous with his time and knowledge and was always lending a helping hand. He was one of the smartest people I will ever know. And he could build and fix everything, which is why my mom always said, “where there’s a Will there’s a way”.
In honor of Will and his generous nature, I’m starting a nonprofit, “where there’s a Will…" The William Caston Memorial Foundation”. Based on the spirit of giving back, this organization will be devoted to lending a helping hand to those who have suffered the sudden loss of their life partner. While there are many fundraisers and charities for victims’ families who have suffered losses during headline-making tragedies, I know of no local organization that helps others who face a sudden loss. If you’ve ever lost someone unexpectedly, or you know someone who has, it is devastating and it FLOORS you. The last thing you need or want to worry about is how you’re going to pay for the funeral, pay bills, or even buy groceries. I know, because I’ve been there. I’m not alone and I want to help. I truly believe where there’s a Will there’s a way!!!
Our Mission:
William Caston Memorial Foundation is an organization dedicated to helping those who have suffered the sudden loss of a life partner.
Our Vision:
To establish a self-perpetuating fund to assist those who find themselves in need, after the sudden loss of a life partner: the assistance to consist of financial relief, emotional support and temporary legal counseling.
