Dear Friends and Neighbors,

At Whiskers In The Wild, our mission has always been about more than cats. It’s about community, compassion, and showing up where help is needed most.

For years, we’ve worked quietly and consistently across the Pittsburgh area, providing care for unwanted and vulnerable cats in some of the most underserved neighborhoods. To date, we’ve spayed and neutered more than 1,500 cats, reducing suffering, stabilizing colonies, and easing the strain on both animals and the people who care about them. This work is only possible because of a community that believes in stewardship, charity, and shared responsibility.

Now, we’re taking the next step.

We are working toward building a cat sanctuary—a space rooted in service, accessibility, and connection. The land has already been obtained. Fence posts for the outdoor areas are in place. With your support, we can transform this space into a sanctuary that gives back as much as it receives.

Our vision is a public-facing sanctuary that will include:

-Safe, contained and enriching outdoor green spaces for cats

-A lifelong home for cats who are not adopted, alongside adoptable companions

-Community workshops, events, and educational resources

-A free reading library

-A food pantry serving both people and animals

This sanctuary is meant to be a shared space—one that supports neighbors, nurtures learning, and offers moments of peace and connection for everyone who walks through the doors.
