Support the Voices of Freedom through Mountains

Nasim Eshqi is an accomplished Alpinist dedicated to empowering women through her climbs, teaching the next generation, and helping them chase their dreams. As an Iranian sports scientist and former kickboxing champion, she has defied the societal norms, expectations and laws for women in Iran. These include not only the compulsory hijab, but the severe restrictions imposed by the Islamic regime on women’s rights, employment, education, healthcare, and freedom of expression. Nasim refused to submit to this oppression, facing resistance from her family and society, and the state in her pursuit of justice and freedom.
In her previous life as a professional kickboxer, she withstood the intense pressure to promote the Islamic regime’s ideals and propaganda, which came at great personal cost and the end of her career.
After being arrested multiple times for her activism , Nasim was forced into exile, but she never stopped fighting.
She became one of the world’s leading climbers, opening more than 100 new routes world wide and turning her personal story into symbol of resistances , resilience, and hope.

But Nasim's journey is more than a battle against gravity; it is a fight for freedom and justice.

In 2023, Nasim launched 'When the Mountains Speak', a climbing-based advocacy project that gives voice to human rights movements through symbolic first ascents. She names each route after a cause that demands attention, transforming the rock into a message, and the summit into a statement.

The first route was ‘Rise Up for Human Rights’ on Mont Blanc-France in 2023, followed by ‘Women-Life-Freedom’ in the Dolomites-Italy in 2024.

In 2024, her autobiography was released, sharing her powerful journey to inspire others.

She started a call to action and opened a fundraising campaign to gather support for her third route.

For her third route, Nasim decided to stand as a voice dedicated to the millions of girls around the world forced into marriage while still children. In Iran, every year, 30,000 girls are forced to marry under the age of 14, with 10,000 of them under 10. Worldwide, 12 million girls are married before the age of 18 every year about one girl every two seconds.

“These are not just numbers,” Nasim says. “These are human beings, like me and you.”

With this crowdfunding campaign, which was started at the beginning of 2025, she succeeded in gaining support for the third route and was able to set the line on the mountain wall of Cusidore in Sardinia in April 2025: “End Child Marriage.”

She is keeping this GoFundMe page active to move forward and add other voices of women to the mountain.

Now, her journey continues. The next route will speak for the victims of femicide the systemic and widespread killing of women simply for being women. This issue affects all human beings across the world, in every society. It is a voice that needs to be heard, and a call to action to stop it globally.

Through her climbs, she continues to defy gravity and injustice one route, one message, one mountain at a time.

Nasim’s journey has been one of immense challenges, sacrifice, and courage. Through this GoFundMe campaign, we are asking for your support to help Nasim continue her meaningful work in human rights through alpinism. Your contribution will enable her to keep inspiring others and be a voice for justice and freedom worldwide raising awareness and driving change for a brighter future.
