Wheels for Kayden

We were given heartbreaking news in September 2022, our 6 year old son was diagnosed with Perthes Disease.. He has since been on strict instruction by his Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon to minimal weight bare. His blood supply to the top of his hip joint has been disconnected and the bone is dying, causing it to be very fragile. Any damage causes unimaginable pain to Kayden and could even disjoint his hips. He has this in both hips and has constant xrays and appointments to monitor the deterioration. As you can imagine this has been very hard for a 6 year old that has had to give up almost every sport, and most things he loved doing so much.. He prefers to use a balance bike at home but during school he is in a wheel chair almost full time.. We are currently loaning a wheel chair from the whyalla hospital. We are so grateful to have access to this, However it is way to big for Kayden.. He has had a wheelchair assessment and next step is to look at purchasing his own wheelchair. He was knocked back by the NDIS after a very frustrating application. We decided to try fund-raise the money instead as we already have travel for consults, and other expenses to attend frequently.

Please if you can help Kayden he would really appreciate this.. he could be in a wheelchair for most of his childhood and we only want him to be comfortable and to keep his mobility independence and well-being.
