Hello my fellow funders, my name is Rio Jones.
From the time I was a child, I always had a big heart and wanted to bring positive change to the community. I was inspired to launch this campaign because I am empowered to give back and bring healing to people battling everyday issues. I experienced success and encountered roadblocks like anyone’s journey in life. Nevertheless, I dusted myself off and continued to push forward. Through great friends in the industry, I was blessed to be introduced to the entertainment business where I eventually started to manage, working with Grammy award winning artists and industry elites. Through that, I gave back by working with young unsigned talent and partnered them with established artists to record music. I even had the opportunity to executive produce a film that was picked up by Lions Gate film. Though the film did not make it to the theatres, it was an amazing experience despite the loss I took. I continued for some time, but eventually took a break when I had children.
Today I am back because my morals and heart guides me to give back out of genuine love for people. I was inspired by God to change my life through love and compassion, which was the foundation to start my non-profit organization, “What Do I Know World?". Through “What Do I Know World”, I seek to push mentorship in my neighborhood, community and eventually, the world. I believe being a mentor or mentoring someone is an awesome way uplift and inspire people.
I need your help to make this dream a reality by securing a workspace (studio) to interview/shoot from, a website, design services and various media equipment (camera, microphone, editing software, lighting etc.) to deliver the production to the masses. “What Do I Know World?" will open the door for opportunities such as internet radio and Q&A forums, however, with any business you have to start from scratch and organically grow it to a scalable organization. With your support, I will reach my goal of mentoring through love and compassion. “What Do I Know World?" supports EVERYONE. Whether it’s the misguided, bullied, abused, neglected, elderly or imprisoned, I will tackle every day issues and be a rock for uplifting. I will interview everyday people and also leverage my connections to interview celebrity guests.
I can attest that mentorship works as I am actively mentored by amazing individuals who guide me in the right direction. All walks of life, including a psychologist, police officer, fitness trainer and leaders from different spiritual backgrounds, which in turn leads me to a better understanding.
