Wendy has been a member of the Syberg's family for almost 10 years! Monday through Saturday, she opens the Syberg's Arnold location with her love and care, mopping the floors, cleaning the restrooms, and tidying up the whole place. She spends the rest of the weekday morning shifts being a solo busser.

Most at the Syberg's Arnold location would agree, Wendy is our work mom. Her kindness and caring is evident in all that she does.

About a month ago, the Syberg's Arnold employee family got the terrible news - Wendy was diagnosed with cancer of the liver. Wendy is a very selfless person and kept the information concealed for awhile, but trusted us enough to let us in on her fight. Since her diagnosis, she has not been able to work like usual. She has doctors appointments and is coping with the pain of a tumor the best that she can, but making it to work is a struggle some days. She is so dedicated to her Syberg's family that she still tries to come in to work as much as she can, even when she is in pain.

Wendy is at the point now that she will start chemotherapy in the next couple of weeks. If any of you has had a friend or family member go through cancer treatment, you know how incredibly hard it is on the body. This will make work even more difficult, if not impossible for her. Without work, there is no income. The struggle of paying bills should be the last thing on Wendy's mind while she is going through such devastating treatments and trying to save her own life.

Wendy came to the U.S. from Honduras several years ago, with her daughter, Nicole. Nicole got married just a year ago.

Wendy, Nicole, and Nicole's husband reside together. All three members of the household work to make their living, but with the increasing medical bills for cancer treatment along with the state of Wendy's health during the treatments, this will not be enough.

De lunes a sábado, abre la sucursal de Syberg's Arnold con su amor y cuidado, trapeando los pisos, limpiando los baños y ordenando todo el su lugar. Desde su diagnóstico no ha podido trabajar como de costumbre. Tiene citas con el médico y está sobrellevando el dolor de un tumor lo mejor que puede, pero algunos días llegar al trabajo es una lucha. Está tan dedicada a la familia de Syberg que todavía intenta venir a trabajar tanto como puede, incluso cuando siente dolor.

Wendy está ahora en el punto en que comenzará la quimioterapia en las próximas semanas. Wendy llegó a los Estados Unidos desde Honduras hace varios años con su hija Nicole. Nicole se casó hace apenas un año.
