Kidney Transplant Fund/Wendy Hunter
Donation protected
This is my daughter, Wendy. On May 4th 2015, at the age of 27 she became ill. She was diagnosed with end-stage renal disease (Kidney Failure). She was placed on dialysis and has been doing dialysis now, for a little over 3 years. She has had her ups and downs with her treatments, sometimes they have made her extremely sick or hospitalized. The doctors were never able to diagnose why her kidneys started to fail and told us the best thing for her was a kidney transplant. She has recently finished an array of testing, to see if she could get placed on the kidney transplant list. After two and a half years she was finally approved for the transplant list. We have recently found out that she has a match for a living donor, who is a family friend and is able to give her a kidney. She has Medicare, which helps to pay for a a portion of the surgery. However, before the hospital will do the surgery, she needs to come up with money for out-of-pocket costs, medications for anti-rejection ( that she has to take the rest of her life) and several follow-up visits to the hospital after the transplant. We currently are trying to have the transplant scheduled for the beginning of September, providing that we can come up with enough money to cover some expenses. Any amount donated is greatly appreciated to help save my daughter's life. God bless all!
