Sadly, most have heard the news by now that Casey Mays was taken from us suddenly at the very young age of 37 this past Saturday leaving all who knew him in complete disbelief and unbearable heartache. I wasn't one of the lucky ones who knew him on a personal level, but I knew his family and through everyones stories of Casey, I feel I now know who he was.
As Todd Tyler well stated," Casey was enthusiastic about everything in life. He loved to sing (and oh how we all know what an incredible voice he had.) Through Casey's singing he knew that he was giving hope, and he understood that HOPE was everlasting and eternal and he knew that people (such as myself) desperately needed it."
It's hard to think of a life without Casey Mays becase he was so full of life. He was the life of every trip, and there never seemed to be a dull moment with him around. He kept people grounded, and he pushed them to be the best that they could be. He was everyones cheerleader per say. He'd do anything for anyone and was always looking for a way to help others. Even if he was the one who was needing help. He made everyone feel special.
Though in a better place we still grieve for him. We grieve for Lauren who just buried her best friend. We grieve for Carver and Kennady who will always wonder what it would of been like growing up with their daddy by their side. Though they miss their dad, they will be raised with so much love. Casey's light will shine through them. When we see them....their eyes, their smile, and simply hear their laugh we will be reminded of Casey. He will never be forgotten.
Just as Casey gave to so many, it is now time for us to give back to him. His family will need help continuing to live on. Lauren needs our help to raise 2 beautiful children. The amount doesn't matter. Whether a donation or words of rememberence, this page is for you Casey. May you rejoice in the presence of the Lord until we see you again someday.
As Brewster McLeod always says, "Later. Love ya. Bye." May you rest in peace dear friend.
