Help Mike White Kick Cancer's Butt

Donation protected
My name is Chris Szymanski, and my sister Courtney White and I received some terrible news on March 21, 2016 that rocked our family to the core. My step-father (Courtney's Biological Father), Mike White has been diagnosed with Colon Cancer. At this time we are unsure of the prognosis. Hopefully we will know more in the next week. Mike had been feeling pain and discomfort in his abdomin the last couple weeks and decided to get seen. Well the doctor advised Mike to get a colonoscopy, during which, a dark mass was discovered. It is a sizeable mass, and there is fear that it has spread to his liver. Mike is scheduled for surgery on April 1, 2016 to remove the mass and a portion of his colon, but he will have to undergo other tests to determine how far along the cancer is. Our mother, Jennifer is devastated, to say the least. They are hoping to get into Yale Hospital today (March 22, 2016) in order to get tests done and his MRI is scheduled for March 23, 2016. This Go Fund Me is being set up in secret from our mother and Mike himself. Courtney and I want to help them in anyway we can. I currently live in Seattle, WA and can't immediately afford to fly my daughter and myself back home, so this we felt was the next best thing.

So, who is Michael White? Mike may not be my biological father, but he has been married to our mother since I was very young and they have been together for long before that. Mike is the strongest, most passionate, sometimes abrasive (but always meant with love in his heart) man I have ever known. Mike has always prided himself on being a provider. He works harder than anyone I know and everyone he comes in contact with, loves him to death. Mike is, was and will always be a Marine (sometimes that mentality takes over though i.e. Disney World Death March). Mike is a Harley Davidson enthusiast. When he is not working his butt off, he and our mother are out somewhere doing something on one of the bikes. When I was in 5th Grade, Mike took a job with Silver Lake Conference Center in Sharon, CT because he knew how much our mother loved that place. Mike was the property manager of the camp for 10 plus years and loved every minute of it. Not to mention everyone loved him. When Mike gets a free minute or a night, you can find him on the couch with his pups which also adore him and he them. Mike made a vow to my mother 20 something years ago, to always care and take care of her and us kids, and he has far exceeded that vow.

Mike, at whatever time you read this, I need to tell you from the bottom of my heart. You are my buddy, my football pal, my dad. I always remember a post you put on Facebook about your weight loss journey, and you told everyone that I was your inspiration. To this day, it brings tears to my eyes. To have the man that raised you, that you look up to, that is one of your heros tell you that you are his inspiration? C'mon man. You are what keeps me going with what I am doing in my life. If it wasn't for your support, I would not be the man I am today. I only hope that I can give Sierra half of the life that you have given all of us. This Go Fund Me campaign is just a small token of our appreciation for what you have done and continue to do for us. Together, buddy, we will fight this until it is completely gone. You are the strongest man I know. I know you can do this. I love you Mike!

Now that I got all the sappy stuff out of the way, I will ask, please PLEASE, it doesn't matter how much you give. This is to help two wonderful people fight the greatest fight of their lives. This is to help us save our father. The funds from this campaign may not be able to pay for the medical bills, but our goal is to be able to give our mother and father a substantial amount of money for the time that Mike will need to be out of work. Anything helps. I hope that I am wrong and set my goal too low at $5,000.00, but if we hit that goal, we will make a new one, and keep going until he is back home and healthy. Whatever it takes! Mike, its your children's turn to take care of you!

From Courtney and myself, I want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We love and appreciate you all, but most of all MIKE WE LOVE YOU BUDDY!
