Urgent Help for Wayne’s Caregivers
Donation protected
Wayne’s Caregivers have saved my life after Wayne’s coma. Please help!
I have been paying for my husband’s caregivers out of pocket since his discharge from the hospital on Sept 16. His insurance will cover the caregivers’ expense once all of the paperwork and bureaucracy is finished but, due to COVID-19, everything is painfully slow.
After a conference call yesterday, I have learned that it will be another month before the insurance will start paying.
I have already spent over $5500 out of pocket waiting for the insurance and now the caregivers urgently need to be paid for the time they have already worked.
Wayne is improving every day including no longer needing supplemental oxygen or a catheter but he is still bed-bound and on a feeding tube. This improvement is in great part due to the wonderful caregivers, Brenda, Leslie and Cynthia that stepped in quickly to assist with teaching me how to change an adult diaper to letting me take an occasional nap.
Wayne’s caregivers need $1600 by Friday, November 20 for the last pay period and then another $1600 in two weeks. I will be selling my car this week to pay for as much as I can which includes other expenses like adult diapers and feeding tube formula. According to the insurance representatives, they should be paying the caregivers after that (after 3 months of waiting).
Wayne and I need your help so that Wayne can continue his post-coma rehab which includes home physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and nursing.
Thank you for helping and please share with others. Every little bit helps.
Love,
Ilena
