Watson House Fire Fund

My husband and I debated on setting one of these up because we have always been the type to "Do It Ourselves" but when you wake up the morning after you experience a house fire, you really realize how much you've lost.

We are so thankful none of us were hurt physically, but the emotional toll it is taking is different. I think sometimes you just can't help but take for granted some of the simplest things like being able to use your own deoderant, or a toothbrush until a house fire takes it from you.

Yesterday morning I, Lacy, left my home. My husband was sleeping and everything was as it has always been. I went to go retrieve my 2 sons (Jayson, 7 and Callahan ,4) from Church with my mother whom they had stayed with the night before. I put our two dogs in their outdoor kennel (Thank God!), kissed my sleeping husband goodbye and went on my way.

Within a very short time, I was getting a call from my brother-in-laws phone. It was Jon, my husband calling to tell me our house was on fire. He said "it's gone Lacy, everything." Of course panic set it, but I reminded myself how thankful I was that everyone was safe. He had awoke to smoke detectors going off in our house and once he realized he couldn't go out our bedroom door, he used our bedroom window to exit the front of the house. The fire was located mainly at the back of the home. In our living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom. Since this has happened we have gathered enough information to know that even the things that were not burned have been deeply covered in soot, and smoke. Things such as my childrens toys, our clothes, bedding etc. I guess it doesn't take much to ruin a 1400 square foot home.

As of right now things have been given to us for clothing for the children and we couldn't be more grateful. We have a few people who have also reached out to give me and Jon clothing as well, so thank you. We decided to set this up for the purpose of things that we feel are a little too personal to ask people to donate but we are in need of all the same. We are not asking for much, just enough to help us replenish things like the groceries we had just bought, over the counter medicine, any toiletries etc. Right now we are staying with family so housing is ok. Our insurance claim is in the works but obviously these things take some time, so anything you can give is appreciated.

If you cannot donate monetarily but still want to help you can reach out to me via email and I can let you know our sizes if it's clothing, or if we end up needing some people to help clean out the home when that time comes we will always appreciate as many hands as we can get.
Thank you so much for your help in this with us.  If nothing else, please pray for our family to have wisdom and guidance through this entire ordeal. Thank you, and God Bless.

Lacy, Jon, Jayson, Callahan and our Fur Babies Bailey and Tank.
