Dear Friends, Family, and Other Generous Supporters,
David was in a very serious car accident in late June. He is undergoing multiple surgeries and will have a long recovery. His insurance will not cover all of the costs and we would very much appreciate any help in covering those costs.
We are very hopeful for his recovery. David recently sat up for the first time since the accident and took a few steps with his walker from the bed to the chair. It was so inspiring and hopeful. His mother and I cheered and cried. The next day he was back in surgery, but those few steps mattered so much.
This is a particularly difficult time financially and emotionally for us because we were to be married in late July and that will now be postponed. This accident on the eve of starting our new life together put additional strain on our finances - but it will not deter our commitment to each other. We are stronger than ever.
We don't normally ask for help but some good friends have counseled us that this is the time to ask. So we ask: if you have a little to spare, we would greatly appreciate it to allow us to get through this difficult time without incurring significant debt and financial stress. We know that not everyone can give. But if you can, trust that it will go a long way towards alleviating David's significant medical costs.
With deep appreciation,
MaryBeth Lowery and David Washington
