New Winter Guinea Pig Recue Building

As the damp weather sets in and the ground becomes damp and boggy, we are desperate for a new shed where the guineas can live without being exposed to the cold damp UK winter. All our hutches have been bought.2nd hand or are donated. A lot are very old, have holes and are not waterproof. We need better housing or our guinea pigs will have to come into our home for the winter.
I would like to try to help this amazing lady by raising some funds to buy a new winter proof shed and build bespoke hutches to improve and expand her rescue and rehoming operation.
Hi my name's Catrin, I recently visited Veronica to find a new friend for our guinea pig. When I arrived I was touched by her dedication and devotion to the +50 guinea pigs in her care. Veronica has literally surrendered her garden and home to the guinea pigs and spends hours each day tending to all their needs.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, there was a huge rise in people buying guinea pigs as it filled the time when people were at home all day and able to care for them.
Sadly, many of these new owners were unable to continue caring for their guinea pigs once restrictions were eased and these poor animals became an inconvenience and many were unwanted. The rescue saw a huge rise in the amount of pigs coming in. Some of the rescues are very poorly pigs who need around the clock care.

As you can imagine, this is very hard work! Veronica does have a small team of volunteers to help clean out, feed and offer lots of piggy cuddles. But the ever growing expenses of feeding so many little mouths and keeping them warm is a huge concern.
Veronica makes sure that not a single guinea pig goes without the care they need and each and every one is loved beyond description.
