It's time to record! I've spent nearly 30 years playing the fiddle and in that time I've had the pleasure of travelling the globe, meeting amazing people, and sharing in all kinds of music and dance. This spring, we will fill the studio with fiddles, banjos, bagpipes, pianos, guitars and dancing feet, as I embark upon my first recording adventure!
You can expect some lively arrangements of traditional and contemporary tunes including many of my own compositions. With some beautiful airs, swinging waltzes, and some good Scotch medleys, we hope to capture the flavour of PEI's music tradition with all the energy of a live square dance. The plan is to finish recording and mixing by the end of May so we can launch the album in June 2016. The tunebook will be completed by then as well – a great combination.
The tunebook will include several of my own compositions as well as some gems I've picked up in my travels. A group of gifted Island composers is willing to let me to publish some of their awesome tunes – how could I resist? The book will also include its own CD with the tunes played solo and 'slowlo' for learning.
The funds raised here will help to pay for studio time (Dunk River Studio), accompanying musicians, CD manufacturing, mechanical rights, artwork & design. It will also fund the layout, design and printing of the tunebook.
I sincerely appreciate your support with this project, I literally couldn't do it without you. Thank you very much.
