✨Help Hanna & Janel Save Their Family, Business, and Home ✨

Hi friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers —

I am raising funds to support one of my childhood best friends and her family, who have always been a friend, generous and supportive to anyone they meet.

Meet Hanna & Janel

They are an incredible mother-daughter duo, who are facing heartbreaking crossroads. Their 4th-generation family-owned salon and skincare business—a legacy built with love and hard work—is at risk of being sold just so they can keep Hanna’s childhood home. And it’s all happening at the worst possible time.

❤️‍ A Sudden Health Crisis

Hanna recently suffered a frightening medical incident at work where she felt like she “blacked out” and struggled to come out of it. Since then, she’s experienced worsening memory loss, impaired motor function, and extreme fatigue. After weeks of waiting and fighting with poor insurance coverage, she finally received an MRI that revealed a large hemangioma (a benign tumor made of abnormal blood vessels) in the basal ganglia—a deep part of the brain that affects movement, memory, decision-making, and emotion.

While the tumor is non-cancerous, its size and location are deeply concerning. Hanna is now facing the real possibility of needing brain surgery, a risk that could leave her unable to work for an extended period of time—or possibly not at all. For someone whose income supports both her mother and herself, this is not just a health crisis, but a devastating financial one as well.

A Mother - Battling Stage 4 Cancer ❤️‍

At the same time, Hanna is the sole provider and caretaker for her mother, Janel, who is battling stage 4 cancer that is continuing to spread after already beating cancer once! They are working closely with medical professionals to explore new treatment options, but they come at a high emotional and financial cost. Hanna helps handle appointments, medications, bills and household needs while also trying to manage her own serious medical condition. Janel is still taking a few clients at the skin care business to help cover her own medical treatments that aren’t covered by insurance fully and that is weighing heavy on Hanna and Janel as they are doing all that they can!

A Future Put on Hold

Hanna recently got engaged to the love of her life and was overjoyed to begin planning her future. But with so much uncertainty and pressure, she’s had to postpone her wedding and put all dreams of the future on hold. Right now, her focus is simply on survival—for herself and her mother.

A Fighter Who Needs Help

Hanna is a single mom, a talented hairstylist, and a woman who gives her all to those she loves. She works full-time at the family salon, picks up side jobs, and somehow still finds the energy to care for her mother and her elementary aged son. She’s holding everything together—but just barely. Without financial help, they may lose their home, their business, and their ability to keep fighting this uphill battle for the both of them.
