Thank you all for your generosity and willingness to support a cause that is incredibly personal to me "“ my War on Alzheimer's. You helped raise more than $25,000 to support Alzheimer's research at The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI)
, which has long been at the cutting edge of biomedical research. And we trust it will continue to be, thanks to funding like this.
We not only reached our goal: we exceeded it. Adding my matching donation of $25,000 to your efforts, we've provided a total of more than $50,000 in new funding to this worthy organization.
My father died of Alzheimer's, and I know many of you have also been touched by this tragic disease. But scientists "“ like those at TSRI "“ are thankfully bringing us closer to a cure every day.
As you well know, two lucky donors will now get to name a character in my next book. (And yes, he or she could turn out to be a villain!) Three runners-up will also receive special "Rizzoli & Isles" prize packages. We are randomly selecting winners, who will hear from us soon!
