Walter's Fight to Beat COVID-19
Donation protected
August 19, 2020: Son, Brother, Uncle, and U.S. Navy Veteran Walter Bakos presented to Sutter Roseville Medical Center after feeling ill for several days.
It was determined Walter was suffering from complications as a result of the COVID-19 virus. His oxygen levels upon admission was alarmingly low (57%) and his lungs were full of fluid.
August 22, 2020: By this time, Walter had already began the fight for his life. Walter was sedated and placed on the ventilator.
August 25, 2020: Walter is in ICU, still fighting. The treatment plan was to medically transport Walter to a Portland, Oregon hospital for a last-stitch effort ECMO treatment. However, due to the recent discovery of at least 2 strokes and blood clot in the brain, Walter is no longer a candidate for medical transport.
Although his prognosis is poor, we have faith that Walter will continue fighting and that God will answer our prayers.
Walter's medical insurance does not become effective until September 1, 2020. Medical expenses incurred to date are fully Walter's responsibility. Any donations will be used to lessen the financial burden. If God calls Walter home, the funds will be used to bring Walter to his final resting place.
