Patrick Walsh is quite the guy. No doubt, he makes an impact on you in a big way. Those that have met him know that he is larger than life, funny, kind, a disciplined worker, and devoted to his family and friends. To him, no one is a stranger; he’d gladly give anyone the shirt off his back.
Now, Patrick and his beloved family need us to return that sharing spirit. Over the past few days, life has changed dramatically for Patrick, his wife Kelly, and their son Chandler. Patrick was in an auto accident, and even though he wasn’t seriously injured in the accident, he had enough of a concussion to warrant a CAT scan, revealing a tumor in the middle of his brain. In the days that followed, he was evaluated by a neurosurgeon, and had an MRI that showed additional problems, prompting the decision to remove the tumor on Friday, May 15th. Since the surgery, Patrick has not awakened, there has been bleeding inside his brain, and further issues that the surgeons say Patrick will never recover from. Patrick remains in ICU, battling serious complications and infection. As you’ve no doubt concluded, extremely difficult decisions are looming for the family, in the days and nights ahead.
All this has taken an unbelievable toll on his family, both emotional and financial. The deductible alone is several thousand dollars. Add in the loss of work, and the burden becomes more than the family can bear.
