Walk For Life 2016
Donation protected
My best friend Nads was diagnosed with cancer this year in May, at the age of 32. This is very young for this disease however I know children that have cancer. It does not discriminate. We want to raise awareness of the disease in young people and provide practical support at the same time. Having gone through this with Nads, the daily needs of someone with cancer, or their family, is not often understood. It’s fine to donate to charity (as we have with every one of our challenges) but this time my fitness business Mind Body Motion Fitness Solutions wanted to apply the funds to a practical use.
MBM ran a Virtual Challenge with Walk For Life 2016. Participants ran/walked 70km, 110km or 150km over a two week period in March 2016. The aim was to have participants obtain sponsorship and donations for their efforts so we could then put this to a practical use. We rasied a significant amoutn of funds towards our $10,000 goal. Our intention is to assist 20 families.
