This campaign is to aid and assist our restaurant partners and employees who are being directly impacted right now!
At Waitr we believe a community's food and restaurants are cornerstones of its culture. Every community has unique people, stories and flavors to share. No matter where we grow, we continue to view each area as local and empower the community to tell its distinct story. Right now these stories are at risk of drowning from the floods in Louisiana.
What this fund is for:
We all know a local restaurant right down the street that serves the community day in and day out! They service the city's regulars and give visitors a quick peek to the voice of the area. We love them because they love their community! We will use the money raised to help get local restaurants who were struck by this tragedy back on their feet because they have done so much for all of us!
At Waitr, we will mobilize our team to go help put in whatever physical work is necessary to rebuild our restaurant partners who were most effected. For those of you who are interested in volunteering keep a look out on our social media for those opportunities. For those who can't help in the physical rebuild process or would like to do more please donate to help out these local community leaders!
Below is one of our partners, Mama B's in Denham Springs, LA whose location received water up to their roof.
These funds are also going to help employees within the Waitr family who were punished by the disaster. Members like Dash Manager Bryan Horton who lost his home and everything inside from rising water levels. Other members include drivers who lost their cars to storm water and thus lost their ability to generate income for their families.
100% of donations made through this campaign will be going to victims of the floods.
Cesar Chavez once said, “If you really want to make a friend, go to someone’s house and eat with him… the people who give you their food give you their heart.” It's time to give our friends our heart and help out however we can.
