Get Warrior Songs to California to Heal Veterans Through Music
Warrior Songs needs your help to reach more veterans through music! We need assistance with travel expenses out to the West Coast. Jason Moon, Executive Director/Founder of Warrior Songs is travelling to Los Angeles, California to receive an award at the Global Peace Song Awards Ceremony. His song, “Trying to Find My Way Home” won the people’s choice award in the folk category for 2016.
It is exciting to receive such honors, but expensive to travel! We just released Warrior Songs Vol. 1, our 1st Story to Song album this past November and much of our funding went to support this project, so our funds are limited for the trip.
Warrior Songs is maximizing this trip. Jason will be doing work with several veterans’ organizations while in California. He begins the trip in San Diego, CA where he will perform at The Veterans Village, a sanctuary for homeless veterans. He then heads to LA to attend the Global Peace Song Awards ceremony and perform at the organization, Wellness Works as part of a Veterans Initiative program. With more support from you, Warriors Songs will be able to be at more venues while on this trip. We want to plan more, but need funds to do so.
With what we have planned right now, Warrior Songs will reach approx. 75 veterans, but we would love to double that number!
The trip is scheduled for February 8th-13th, 2017.
What we need! ($1500.00, total)
Flight –$365.00
Baggage Check for Guitar and CDs for Vets-$120.00
Lodging-$250.00 (able to secure some homestays)
Ground Transport-$120.00
Meals-$200.00
Misc. Travel-$200
We need to book the plane ticket by 1/25/2017 for the trip to be possible. Please spread the word, no amount is too small to donate, every dollar helps! Proceeds from the trip will go to fund future outreach and education with veterans.
