It's been a long road for the Grindrod family as they move Kiara through the stages of therapy and recovery. Our Warrior Princess still has many battles to fight, and the family could use our support at this time. I asked if I could create a fundraiser for them at this difficult time.
Please, if you can help them in any little way- or big way!- let's pour our love out on this family and support them as they provide Kiara with the treatment she needs to recover.
Our first urgent goal to reach, is to raise at least $2,000 this week (August 3-10), so they can afford the plane tickets and other travel needs before their flight. They will still need much more than this to cover the expenses of the treatment and travel costs after the flight.

Below is a message from the Grindrods:
"Sometimes things feel so close and yet still so far away....the progress is sometimes forgotten when you look up and see that the mountain indeed has not been conquered. The questions and doubt can sneak in if you let them, and no plan is foolproof to keep them out. We continue to celebrate progress and fight for every opportunity..not just for Kiara but for Jameson and Kylie as well. During the last couple of years this community has loved, and given to us in sacrificial ways- its hard to comprehend at times what has taken place...the generosity and love sown into our situation is impossible to capture our gratitude with words. We are at an important crossroads in our journey- after a short waitlist period, Kiara was accepted back into Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore for a 4 week session of intensive therapy. This was recommended by her Neurologist- while she has made progress he believes this is a vital time in her development to get this therapy. Physical, Occupational, Speech, and Vision...we are at a critical time in Kiara's schooling and these therapies in a focused intense environment will help set her up for the next stage of growth and should provide some additional independence. We don't know how this will come together and the thought of splitting the family for a month is tough to stomach...through it all we have stayed together...this will be a first. The biggest challenge is the financial piece... If you feel led to give and help we thank you and pray it is a blessing returned to you one hundred fold....its difficult to be in a position of needing help but we are determined to not let our pride keep our princess from this therapy. We are looking to raise money for travel, any expenses not covered by insurance, and additional therapy equipment or resources that may be needed. " -Keren and Jeremiah Grindrod
