Wrexham Police FC fundraiser for the Wrexham Miners Project

On Sunday 15th September, Wrexham Police FC will continue their fundraising endeavours against Jumpers for Goalposts at Colliers Park, Wrexham.

The off duty cops will be raising money for the The Miners Rescue Station.

The Miners Rescue Station was purpose built, as required by the Coal Mines Act 1911, and was officially opened in November 1913 as a training centre for mine rescue teams. The Wrexham Miners Project is now working to preserve the building in memory of the brave people who trained here and to provide a cultural hub for the local community. For many years, the building stood empty. Due to neglect and financial constraints, it is now in need of significant refurbishment.
