As many of our friends know, Welcome Home Sanctuary Inc., our home and the home of all the ElderAnimals and Special Needs Animals who live here may be lost to foreclosure or short sale. The animals here are the ones who had no other chance but the Death Needle or Heartstick in public shelters around the country. They are the old, the sick of body and/or spirit. We have nowhere to go and no way to get there if we did. Our plan is to raise funds for a mobile home/RV so that we can at least have a secure roof over the heads of the beloveds here. With an average age of 10-12 for canines and 7+ felines (one of our boys [from the Yonkers folks!!] is currenetly 18!!!)
Okay, well it's official. :-( Our final day here will be November 5, 2014. With a forecast of a Sept. 2014 'polar vortex', it is CRITICAL that we be able to obtain an RV or some other similar remedy, or we will all freeze. OR, I will have to send all these old timers to a shelter, which I refuse to do. Then that leaves me with the only answer - euth., which my heart and soul rage against. I always HATE when someone says that in a post, but this time it's a real possibility, and I now understand how desperate people could possibly even think it, let alone do it.
We have to go to contract and that is the "bug out" date. Can you all PLEASE HELP!!??
I hope, pray and encourage you all to share this with friends on FB and elsewhere, and with your employers if they have a matching grant program.
Every day the hour draws closer - will we be able to accomplish this goal, or will we all be standing on a street corner selling pencils? Thank you, humbly, from all of our hearts.www.welcomehomesanctuaryinc.weebly.com
