Brown Family Medical Fund
Donation protected
My name is Rod Johnson and I'm asking for both prayers and donations for my dad's medical expenses as related to stage 4 bone Cancer.
Willie Brown (or as my brother and I affectionately call him, "Burt") is suffering from the affects of stage 4 Cancer. Burt is a military Veteran having served in the Vietnam war and safely returned home in 1969 to his lovely wife, Geraldine Brown.
Willie speaks often of his service to his country and reflects on his time in the military and the men he served with.
Willie had been complaining of pain in his back and legs and upon making routine trips to the VA Hospital, was told it was arthritis. Home remedies and arthritic medications were prescribed and he was returned home. However, the truth was he had an aggresive bone Cancer that has (in 2 short weeks) come to render him immobile.
An accurate diagnosis back in october could have easily prompted immediate chemotherapy treatment and a more positive outcome. However, Willie is now being admitted to Hospice care as his wife, Geraldine is no longer able to provide the around-the-clock support and care that he needs now that he's no longer able to walk or care for himself.
I'm seeking donations to help with medical expenses.
Willie has been the sole breadwinner for both himself and Geraldine. Their income comes in the form of a monthly VA and retirment check; which has allowed them to pay mortgage, medical, utillity and living expenses in the town of Jackson, Mississippi.
However, the insurance policy that Willie purchased after being correctly diagnosed will likely be dropped once it's discovered that he does indeed have Cancer; leaving Geraldine with the task of paying costly medical bills with no income.
I ask not only donations to help cover these expenses for hospice care and medical bills, but for your prayers and best wishes as well.
Willie has been a devoted and loving husband and father and came to adore his young grandchildren. We are believers in a higher power and have come to accept that all things work together for good for those who do believe. We're not sure why this was the path chosen for our family, but we still honor and give Him praise and know that in the event God calls him home, it's not "goodbye", it's "see you later".
I ask that you donate whatever is placed on your heart and spirit to give and thank you abundantly for your generosity.
