Help The Whitemarsh Boys Rowing Team Compete at Henley!
The Whitemarsh Boat Club (WBC) Senior Boys rowing team is headed to the Henley Royal Regatta (HRR) in Great Britain! We’re seeking your help to cover the costs associated with competing in one of the most prestigious regattas in the world.
The WBC Boys team is made up of athletes from a variety of backgrounds and schools in the Philadelphia area. Training together six days a week at the Hines Rowing Center in Conshohocken, PA, the boys have demonstrated tremendous work ethic that has translated into an impressive string of success in regional and national regattas with the most recent victories (by unprecedented margins) at the Mid Atlantic regionals on May 12th.

Per Head Boy’s Coach, Art Post, “No American crew has ever won the Fawley Cup at Henley, the event for Junior Boys’ Quads. These young men truly have a chance to
make history. I know they will represent the Philadelphia region and the USA well!"
The Henley Royal Regatta (HRR) was established in 1839 in the town of Henley-on-Thames along one of the most beautiful stretches of the River Thames. One of the most prestigious regattas in the world, HRR boasts over 300 races across six days of elite competition and is attended by over 300,000 people. The 2024 HRR takes place the first week of July.
WBC will be sending 2 Boys Quads and 2 coaches to compete with the best rowers from across the globe. Participating in the HRR comes with significant financial demands including boat rentals, housing, flights, and coach expenses. This is why we're seeking your support.
By investing in the WBC Boys, you're not only supporting their athletic endeavors but also nurturing their personal growth and development. The lessons learned on the water – discipline, resilience, and sportsmanship – extend far beyond the regatta course, shaping these young men into leaders both on and off the river.
HRR Racing starts on July 2nd, 2024. The team will be heading to England to train the last week of June. Please contribute what you can in May 2024 and share this fundraiser with others so we can confidently plan for the trip.
