Help us send the Worcester Arts Magnet School Special Chorus to a special end of the year competition at Six Flags NE!

WAMS is a unique public magnet school located in the city of Wocester MA, which integrates art, drama, music and dance into the educational process. The Special Chorus is a select group of 40 students from grades 5 and 6 who meet before school to rehearse both songs and choreography. Lead by Chrysanthe Manuel and Cathy Taylor they've worked to create a high energy, 11 minute performance and would love to end the year by performing in the Great East Music Festival at Six Flags NE.
The Festival is a chance to show off all the hard work they have put in over the school year, compete with schools from all across the region and hear constructive citisim, but we need your help to get them there! Your donation will help us cover competition and transportation fees as well as provide an incredible end of year celebration and experience for the students.

2014-2105 marks only the 4th year of competition and adjudication festivals for WAMS. They are often the youngest group in this region since there is no existing elementary category, instead they compete against the middle school age group and standards. This year they have been awarded Silver Medals both at the Central Ma and Eastern Show Choir Festivals as well as individual members recieving special judges awards for solos and standout performances.
In addition to competitions, the Special Chorus has performed both city and state wide. They have performed in such venues as First Night Worcester, the Worcester’s Holiday Tree Lighting Festival, the Mass Music Educators Conference, and the Massachusetts State House.

They've had a great year learning songs and choreography, stage presence, constructing their own props (photo from our puppet workshop for the Avenue Q number) and working with eachother.
Hopefully we can get them to one more performance and bonding experience before the year comes to a close.
Thank you all for your support!
