Please help the WA girls in the Australian Women’s Floorball team in travelling to play at the World Floorball Championships in Slovakia this December!
Floorball (also known as: innebandy, unihockey or salibandy) is a sort of hybrid of indoor hockey and ice hockey, played on an indoor court. Played primarily in Scandinavia and northern Europe, it is not funded in Australia, and so athletes bear the expense of international competitions. The costs are expected to be between $5000 and $6000 per person for the pre-comp camp and the tournament.
For some of us, this is our first time playing for the national team, for others it is the 3rd or 4th time. More than half of us are students, so trying to find enough money is very difficult. We are all incredibly excited to represent our country in the sport we love, and super keen to develop our floorball skills.
All donated funds will go towards the cost of the competition, the pre-championship camp in Finland or other directly related tour costs.
If you are able to donate any money that would be greatly appreciated! Even just small donations of $2 adds up!!!
