Hi, I’m Marc Cambruzi, and I’m writing this on behalf of my father, Vince Cambruzi—a man who has spent his entire life quietly serving others.

For over 10 years, Vince volunteered as a firefighter with Victoria’s Country Fire Authority (CFA), risking his life to protect communities during some of the state’s worst bushfires, including the infamous Ash Wednesday fires. He never asked for praise. He just did what needed to be done.

In addition to his service with CFA, Vince dedicated 35 years of his life to the Department of Human Services, working with people with intellectual disabilities. His entire life has been shaped by compassion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to helping others.

Now, he needs our help.

Vince is in the final stage of chronic kidney failure. He undergoes dialysis four days a week and is battling a rare and painful infection caused by calcium buildup from treatment. What started as a small wound has spread through the lower half of his leg, and because of how rare the condition is, there’s no specific antibiotic that can treat it. His time is limited.

His greatest wish is simple: to drive to Barwon Heads, sit by the water, and cast a line one last time. But beyond this final fishing trip, there’s a much deeper need.

Vince’s car broke down during his illness, and without it, he’s unable to do even the most basic things—visit the bank, see his doctor, or make final arrangements. Getting the car repaired would not only make the trip possible, but more importantly, allow him the independence to put his affairs in order with dignity and peace of mind.

In his own words:

"If we could just get the car repaired, I wouldn’t feel like a prisoner. I mean, look at the weather lately—what can I do but stare out the window and feel tired? I almost feel like I’m just waiting to die."

No one who has given so much should feel this way. With your help, we can make his final days more peaceful, purposeful, and free.

How You Can Help:

Donate – Every dollar gets us closer to repairing or replacing his car and covering basic funeral costs

Share – Please share this with others who might be able to help

Loan or Donate a Car – Even for a weekend trip, it would mean the world

From the bottom of our hearts—thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting us during this incredibly difficult time.
