We are asking for donations to help the Calleros Villarreal Children. They reside in Durango, Mexico and receive no aid from the government or any other association what so ever and due to the circumstance they cant go find/maintain work. Yareli Calleros Villarreal, their oldest daughter of 5, children tragically passed away at the age of 19 last year after a 5 year battle with Lafora progressive myoclinic epilepsy (MELF) which causes painful and fatal seizures.
Currently, Luis Alfredo (age 19) and Abelardo (age 16), the two eldest of their children have also been diagnosed with the neurodegenerative disease. Medical professionals have already alerted the family that the youngest children, Aldo Yair (age 13) and Citali (age 12) are yet to show symptoms of the disorder, but may still be diagnosed later on.
Unfortunately there is no cure for the disease and most patients do not live past the age of 25 and death within 10 years or earlier of diagnosis is almost inevitable. Due to the violent nature of the seizures, the poverty-stricken economic situation of the Calleros Villarreal family, they cannot afford medication or treatment to help the suffering of their children and can never leave them out of sight.
They are cursed with choosing between medications or feeding their children since the only form of income they receive is through selling tamales while tending to their children. Their children are in desperate need in seeing a specialist to try and help lengthen their chances of livelihood, but have no funds or insurance to do so.
They are in truly desperate need. I can provide proof if necessary of their conditions, as well as proof that the money is going directly to the family. I understand we all have bills and our own difficult times; I truly would appreciate even a single dollar because a single US dollar is roughly $15.00 in Mexican currency "pesos".
Please if you are able too, every donation and every dollar counts! Please help this family so that they can at least provide food and medicine for their children. Thank you all very much and may you be repaid tenfold.
We are also trying to contact major medical associations and TV programs to provide help as well so if anyone has any contacts I would greatly appreciate it. Please share this families story to get them some help!
