Paul Velez gained his Heavenly Wings, Sunday, April 14th at 8:10pm at St. Luke's hospital in Houston. Surrounded by his wife Lori, their three sons, Ethan, Ben and Ryan along with family and friends.

In his 49 years he impacted so many with his sheer kindness and compassion for others. A true Angel here on earth. All of the love and tears that filled his corner room there on the 2nd floor in the Cardiovascular ICU was proof that Paul made a difference and Heaven gained one of the BEST!

Paul received a heart transplant on July 23, 2023 and fought hard to recover and reach milestones, getting closer and closer to that 1 year mark. Although he gave 100%, after only 8 months Paul's new heart started to fail. A little over 2 weeks ago his recovery became another fight for his life. We may not always understand God's plan but find some comfort knowing he has no more pain and walked through Heaven's gates last night with his forever heart.

Paul loved his wife and boys so much and if there was anything he would've wanted as he left us, it would be for Lori and the boys to have their home completed. Recently Paul and Lori bought a piece of property in the Livingston area and were slowly trying to make it home. They bought a shell home with hopes of building out the inside together while living there. Now unfinished, there's still work to be done including plumbing, electrical, sheetrock, painting among other things.
