Hi friends,
It's my birthday this weekend, & I’m reaching out with something really personal & vulnerable.
I really want to be a mom.
For a while now, I’ve been planning to freeze my eggs. Originally, I had planned to start trying for kids with my ex around pandemic times, which changed when we separated. Then life threw some more unexpected curveballs: the film industry took a massive nosedive, so I got a full-time job, then my hours were cut, & then I was laid off in October. I’m now working multiple part-time jobs, but this has meant I had to pause my plans once more.
My current option:
I've started the process with a place called KindBody, which would be here in LA & is a woman-run & owned business. $100 for a fertility assessment so we can know how many procedures I'll likely need, plus a full medical workup (hoping I can have my own doctor do this to have it covered), $8,400 for the procedure, & $4,000-$6,000 for medication, $920 for the annual storage costs so $13,420-$15,420 for one attempt. $26,840-$30,840 for 2 attempts.
The doctors I’ve consulted with told me that I will probably need to do the procedure 2-3 times to get enough viable eggs due to my age.
If you’re able to contribute any amount, big or small, it would mean so much. Even sharing this fundraiser with others would be a huge help. I know this journey isn't for everyone, & it’s hard for me to ask for help (I've vacillated on asking for 3 years), but it's already a no if I don't ask.
If you want to donate directly as a friend or family and skip the GoFundMe Fees; Venmo: @V-Nixie or Zelle: my phone number. (I'll keep followers updated on the full total here.)
Thank you for reading this far! I appreciate you for potentially boosting this fundraiser's visibility, for supporting me, & for joining me on this part of my journey.
