VALERIE HEIDT-BUSHMIRE GO FUND ME FOR MEDICAL EXPENSES AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Most of you know by now our sweet, beautiful and talented Valerie has been recently diagnosed with a rare very aggressive neuroendocrine cancer Stage 4 which has metastasized into her chest and lungs through the lymph system and blood. She had no symptoms but some abdominal pain around Christmas and went into the ER. This amazing woman even went to recurrent training after learning this in early February and struggled with the idea of sharing it with others, but then she thought maybe she could help others through her experience. She started chemotherapy this week but has had trouble with the IV and veins at the center and her left arm is bruised and swollen from the treatment so now they want to put a port in. The diagnosis has been a shock to her, her husband Glenn and their family. After a very grueling week they realized they will most likely need additional financial help with medical expenses and care as there may be therapies that the insurance company does not cover and is already resisting or additional treatments that could help her immunity that are not covered and can be extremely expensive.
We know some of you have already reached out in prayer, meals, gift cards, and more. However, additional help is needed. A Go FUND ME Account seemed the right thing to do. With much contemplation Valerie and Glenn agreed to accept any additional help that can be given as they know it is a difficult and challenging road ahead for them.
Valerie was so overwhelmed with gratitude by the love, care, hope and support you all have shown. She is amazed how her Alaska family has come together and let her know we are going to fight this fight with her as this cancer is not curable but treatable. She is a very strong woman and has faith in God for healing but our additional help could make a difference.
We appreciate anything you can contribute large or small to help them out. Our goal is at least $50,000 or more. If a lot of us give even a little or what we are able it can add up quickly.
