URGENT: Save Miranda’s Evidence Before September 2nd, 2025

I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Miranda.
She is a survivor of domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual assault. Right now, she urgently needs YOUR help to stop the auction of her storage unit on September 2, 2025. This storage unit holds: all of her critical evidence for her California Civil Rights Complaint; criminal and civil court evidence against her abuser; case files related to her daughter’s victimization and the cremains of her pregnancy loss. Miranda faces losing EVERYTHING in her storage unit due to fee increases she could not afford. Unless she pays the owed $1,011 before September 2, 2025, the unit contents is set to be auctioned on September 2nd. If that happens, she will lose irreplaceable evidence, all of her possessions and the cremains of her 2nd pregnancy.

But Miranda also has strength and determination. Despite—and possibly because of—her own hardships, Miranda has continued her advocacy. She’s working with the Sunita Jain Anti-Trafficking Initiative at Loyola Law School and actively engaging in ACLU Northern California, Reproductive Freedom for All and the Center for Survivor Agency & Justice's policy and organizing work. She does this while also working on her trauma, health and occupational rehabilitation as a consumer of the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.

How You Can Help:
*Stop the Auction: Donate any amount you feel comfortable giving toward the $1,011 balance to prevent the September 2, 2025 auction! Reaching this goal will protect her critical evidence, case files, possessions and pregnancy cremains. Your support will preserve her access and ability to pursue justice and save the household goods she has worked so hard to rebuild since loosing everything and fleeing from her abuser.

Help Her Move Forward:
Additional support will go towards:
1) replacing three bald car tires
2) renewal of past due vehicle registration
3) repairing her shattered phone screen (which rendered her phone useless). This is critical for transferring evidence to law enforcement.
Your donations will ensure Miranda is able to safely get to meetings, continue to access legal and medical resources and earned income opportunities as she rebuilds her life.
Every dollar counts and no amount is too small. Your generosity will help Miranda hold onto her past, fight for justice and keep pushing toward a hopeful future. If you can’t donate, please share this campaign with your network.

Thank you for supporting Miranda! She’s a remarkable woman who refuses to give up. Together, we can help her protect what matters most and assist her in continuing her journey as a survivor and advocate.

With gratitude,
Cher Rubin
