Urgent Need for Missionary of 30 years

We covet your prayers for my dear uncle and co-laborer in Christ, Pastor Rainier Rolda. Pastor Rainer was one of the first Filipino missionaries to come to Cambodia. He has been faithfully serving as the pastor of Bethany Baptist Church Phnom Penh since 1992.

Pastor Rainier will be undergoing surgery to amputate his right leg. A complication of his diabetes. For the most part, his diabetes has been well controlled despite the lack of availability of medications in Cambodia. Pastor Rainier has remained physically active through soul winning, visiting members and sports. A few weeks ago, there was a severe flood in Cambodia. After trying desperately to salvage the church’s belongings from being ruined, he noticed a wound on his right foot. After a week of trying to treat the wound, he became very concerned that it was not healing properly. He then consulted a specialist that may be able to help with his injury, which is now causing unbearable pain and discomfort. It was then that the doctor gave him the news that he no longer has blood circulation in his leg and that his leg would need to be amputated very soon. He then flew to the Philippines to get a second opinion which only solidified the need to amputate his right leg.

We are sad to see him suffer in this way, especially considering his desire to do so much more for the Lord through his ministries. Despite his limitations, he is trying his best to bring glory to God through this trial.

As you can imagine, the cost of amputating his leg will be very expensive. In addition, he will need rehabilitation and possibly a prosthetic to get around. On top of the physical pain he is experiencing, the financial burden is overwhelming, especially for a Missionary in Cambodia.

I am asking for your consideration to pray and help alleviate the financial burden however possible.

He needs our help. Pastor Rainier is a faithful servant of God, and he has given his life to see the lost people of Cambodia reached by the Gospel. I’ve spoken to him recently, and despite being in great pain, his countenance was of peace and his faith unwavering. He was more of an encouragement to me than I was to him.

Would you consider being a blessing to Pastor Rainier Rolda by giving toward his medical expenses? Your fervent prayer and generous gift are very much appreciated. God bless.
