I am in an emergency situation and urgently asking for help.
November 18th, I was in a serious car accident that left me with two herniated discs, two slipped discs, lumbago, and sciatic nerve damage causing constant sciatica. I have not been medically cleared to work for over a month, and I lost a job I had just been hired for because of these injuries. I currently have no income.
My emergency room bill alone is $29,000 even after my $10,000 PIP insurance coverage, and I still have ongoing medical expenses related to this accident. I am managing pain without prescription medication because I cannot afford it and am surviving on Tylenol and natural supplements just to function.
Despite the danger, I am still driving the same vehicle I was injured in, even though it has frame damage and is essentially totaled. I cannot afford a rental car upfront, and insurance will only reimburse the rental after my damaged vehicle is returned — which I cannot do without transportation.
At the same time, my family is facing a life-threatening medical crisis. My father is hospitalized 80 miles away, requiring a 160-mile round trip every day. Doctors are working to save his only remaining leg.
My father lost one leg to amputation in 2017. Due to a severe infection, part of his foot on his only remaining leg has already been amputated. He is undergoing 150 rounds of IV antibiotics and is currently only on round 30. Once released from the hospital, he must be transferred to a rehabilitation facility to continue IV antibiotics, wound care, and mobility therapy.
However, my father lost his health insurance, and we have been told that one month of rehabilitation requires $60,000 paid up front. Without this rehab, the infection could spread, and he could lose the rest of his only leg — or worse.
This fundraiser will go toward:
1. My Medical Expenses (Car Accident) —
• Remaining ER balance after PIP
• Follow-up imaging, specialists, and treatment
• Pain management and physical limitations while healing
2. My Father’s Hospital & Rehab Care —
• One month of inpatient rehabilitation required to continue IV antibiotics
• Ongoing wound care and mobility therapy
• Critical care needed to attempt to save his only remaining leg
3. Transportation & Vehicle Stability —
• Fuel for daily 160-mile round trips to the hospital and rehab
• Temporary rental or transportation assistance
• Preventing repossession of my only vehicle so I can attend medical care and work once cleared
4. Food & Basic Living Necessities —
• Groceries and hot meals while we are unable to work
• Basic household needs during recovery and hospitalization
• Preventing ongoing food insecurity
5. Emergency Cushion & Unexpected Medical Costs —
• Additional hospital bills or medication costs
• Extended rehab needs or complications
• Unavoidable emergencies during recovery
We are in immediate financial crisis. We are spending approximately $50 per day on fuel and the cheapest meals possible. We are severely food insecure, often eating once a day or less, and food pantries have been unreliable or depleted.
I have tried working through Instacart just to afford gas, but my injuries prevent me from lifting items without dropping them. Even with help, it is painful and unsustainable.
I am asking for help now, before this situation becomes irreversible. Any amount helps — whether it goes toward food for the day, fuel to reach the hospital, or medical care that could save my father’s only leg. If you cannot donate, please share this fundraiser.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and helping us survive this crisis.
