I’m currently at risk of not being able to cover my rent and basic living expenses for April and May while continuing graduate school.

My name is Mirza (they/them), also known as NAXO 9999. I’m a nonbinary, trans, queer SWANA migrant and a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in Chicago. I’ve completed 4 semesters and have 6 more to go.

Even with financial aid, I cannot meet my basic living expenses right now. I’ve applied for additional support, but outside of student financial aid, there have been no accessible resources available to me. With delayed payments from work and inconsistent bookings, I cannot sustain my current living situation without support.

I don’t have family support, and I’ve reached a point where I need community to help me stay housed and stable.

For over 10 years, I’ve devoted myself to community care. I’ve created and held spaces for healing, sound, music, and connection — often offering free or low-cost support to those who needed it most. This work is not separate from me — it’s how I show up for others, and it’s what I’m committed to continuing.

Right now, I’m asking for that support in return.

This is not just about getting through a difficult moment — it’s about staying on my path toward becoming a licensed mental health counselor so I can continue serving our communities with care, creativity, and intention.
