I need your support to start Chery Baby Filmworks to bring stories that matter to life...

I am 70 years old; I survived being sexually attacked when I was 10 years old; that was 60 years ago. That night, I vowed to myself that I would never let anyone harm me in such a way without seeking Justice. Nobody wanted to hear me out or discuss this, so I remained silent.

I was at the same crossroads when I was 10 years old—at the age of 32—after choosing to pursue a male-dominated profession. I had to decide between my life, my job, and the justice I sought against prominent political leaders because I was married and a mother of two little children who relied on my income. The lives of myself and my family were irrevocably altered by my choice. 

Chery Baby Filmworks first endeavor is my one-woman dramatization "I RISE: A Life Defining Moment," I discuss my effect as a survivor of sexual abuse, which produced post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and bipolar disorder that I successfully manage with medication.

I also share my tale of thriving, returning to complete my degree in Creative/Screen Writing at 70, graduating with honors to put voice to our many untold stories that hunger for an audience, critical thinking and provocative discussion that have yet to be written.

I look to Empower my audience and Victim; When I tell my story, it is with the hope that it may make a difference and finally bring critical and challenging discussion about the horrible themes of sexual abuse/assault and the mental illness that often goes along with it.

At age 31, the city I worked for and all of the city workers, including women, men, the LBGTQ community, and other minority groups, benefited from my decision to right a wrong.

Grant me the grace and support to bring this desperately needed small business; Chery Baby Filmworks and its first endeavor to fruition so our many untold stories that are waiting to be written for television and film may be viewed by an audience
