THEY SAY IT IS OVER, BUT WE ARE NOWHERE NEAR THE END!
They say it is over, but there are no signs of that being true.
After more than two years of dreaming of waking up next to my children and husband, looking forward to a blessed Friday where we pray and rejoice together as a family, there is still no real indication that this will come true any time soon.
I keep telling everyone how tired I am, and how tired we are as a nation.
Hounded for our skin, displaced as if our destiny is to simply accept unimaginable levels of cruelty, kept in prisons for no particular reason and released… only to be buried afterwards.
I refuse to accept that the world doesn’t think we deserve more.
Because I know that many of you believe we deserve so much better, and you have shown my family and me a level of love and compassion I never knew existed.
My name is Raghda Mohammed, and I’m still alive.
I am still breathing, hoping, crying, sleeping, imagining a better future, just like you, my dear friends.
I’m 26 years old, and my youngest son Anas, who is almost two years old, doesn’t know what peace means. The lullabies I tried to sing were tainted by the sound of explosions.
My daughter Tia, who just turned four, doesn’t play with toys. Instead, she plays hide and seek, hiding from the airplanes and seeking the remnants of bombs.
To keep going, to keep my mind intact, I still need your help.
I have a duty toward my children, and I want to fulfill it until their last moments. I want to keep them safe and fed until their last breath.
Anything you can give is deeply appreciated. It keeps us alive for one more day and allows us to continue hoping that one day our struggle will not have been for nothing.

يقولون إن الأمر انتهى، لكن لا توجد أي بوادر على ذلك.
بعد أكثر من عامين من حلم الاستيقاظ بجانب أطفالي وزوجي، متطلعين إلى جمعة مباركة نصلي فيها ونفرح معًا كعائلة، لا يوجد حتى الآن أي مؤشر حقيقي على أن هذا سيتحقق قريبًا.
أظل أخبر الجميع كم أنا متعب، وكم نحن متعبون كأمة.
مطاردون بقسوة، مشردون كما لو أن قدرنا هو ببساطة قبول مستويات لا تُصدق من القسوة، محتجزون في السجون بلا سبب مُحدد، ثم يُطلق سراحهم... ليُدفنوا بعد ذلك.
أرفض أن أقبل أن العالم لا يعتقد أننا نستحق أكثر من ذلك.
لأنني أعلم أن الكثير منكم يؤمنون بأننا نستحق الأفضل بكثير، وقد أظهرتم لي ولعائلتي مستوى من الحب والرحمة لم أكن أعلم بوجوده من قبل.
