Supporting costs of Unit Nine through closure

We are moving into a period of devastating effect. Covid-19 has brought down the business world and has thrown curve balls our way.
We were just moving into what would have been our busiest ever period, with huge promoters lined up, most weekends filled with events and customers loving what we have done with the venue.
After our recent refurb, it was critical that our plans came into action and worked, as we have constantly been re-investing into the venue since day one.
Understandably, promoters are cancelling / postponing their events with us to protect their own event investments, and rightly so.. but this does mean it has a domino effect onto us here at Unit Nine.
The home we have built for promoters and punters to enjoy the music you all love is at risk due to the financial crisis we all find ourselves in. We cannot let this risk become a reality. We created Unit Nine to stay long term, we have so much more to do.. with so many more people yet to enjoy what we have on offer.
Our ONLY revenue comes from the events we hold, revenue of which 99% is from the bar takings.
With no events.. means no income. The costs of running a venue are higher than what maybe meets the eye. The government have just announced how they plan to support small businesses but we fear that it may not even touch the sides, depending on how long this crisis goes on for. We KNOW that we can bring Unit Nine back to where we just had it.. but we need to cross the dark patch and pay all the bills that still need paying and the staff to keep them living.
The support we have received since day 1 has been humbling. We have grown because of YOU. The title ''The peoples venue,'' was born from the love and feel we get from each event you guys hold and attend.
You speak, We listen.. - so often you have asked us to improve things, add things, book artists... and we have come up trumps on most occasions. The toilets were our biggest pet hate (not just yours, ours too!) and we managed to some how undergo a HUGE refurb.. which has been a game changer.. until Covid-19.

On Saturday 12th September, we plan to hold an event in celebration of all of YOU amazing people. The idea being, if we have made it that far, then it's because everybody has come together and made it happen!
For a minimum £10 pledge OR a maximum of what you feel comfortable donating, we are offering to you:
- Entry to the event
- 2 drinks (Beers / Spirit & mixer)
- Your name added to ''The Peoples Venue'' wall.
If you ARE in a position where you can donate more than £10, then we once again, THANKYOU, from the bottom of our hearts.
The Peoples Venue Wall is something that we have been planning to do for a while but have not got to. It will be a feature wall and will have the names of everybody that pledges money to help Unit Nine to survive this. In the future, if there is still space on the wall, we will open up the opportunity further for people to get their name onto the wall.
Rather than just asking for donations we wanted to show that we had every intention of giving something back. This is our pledge to you that we will be doing all we can to get the heart of Unit Nine beating again and stronger than ever.
