The past two years have been devastating for university workers with over 40,000 job lost while our union has floundered. We can begin to turn our sector and our union around if we elect a new union leadership team that will work every day to build our union power and employ a leadership approach that is inclusive, compassionate and professional.
We’re running for NTEU state leadership roles -Secretary and Assistant Secretary for the Victorian Division. We have the vision, and the proven experience to make our union work for us.
What we will do?
As Secretary and Asst Secretary of the Victorian Division we will:
*Fight for job security for all uni workers by facilitating the creation and growth of state-wide rank and file networks
*Demand university accountability and fight for increased federal funding by connecting grassroots campaigning with lobbying
*Use transparent negotiations practices in bargaining to ensure the bargaining table is being led by members and not by management
*Equip all Victorian branches with the tools to appoint delegates in every faculty and work area by rolling out relevant trainings and creating more opportunities for branches to learn from each other
*Value and invest in our colleagues that work for the NTEU by ensuring a respectful workplace.
Every dollar fundraised will be used for print materials and campaign promotion. You can also volunteer your time to help get the word out by joining our campaign at www.unionpowerVIC.com. I hope to speak with you soon, Annette and David
