Bruce is a hardworking, friendly, charismatic guy. A few years ago he suffered a stroke. As if this wasn’t hard enough to overcome, he then was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After surgery, the prostate was removed but unfortunately there were a few cancerous tissues left behind. This leaving Bruce to continue on with his cancer journey. Bruce was feeling well and began monitoring the cancer while becoming a full time Substitute Teacher. A job he’s always felt inclined towards and instantly felt a love for. To no surprise, the students quickly began to love Mr. Bruce as much as he loved them. As if Bruce hasn’t had a hard enough few years on his health journey, he then took a fall while doing the thing he loves most.. hockey. Unfortunately, this fall caused a broken hip. Anyone who knows Bruce knows he is a hardworking man who does not ask for anything, but this one time he is asking for help to cover his medical bills. Being a substitute he has limited benefits, and as a Veteran has been receiving medical help through the VA (Veterans Administration) but that will only cover so much.
