Help build Petrona a safe Home
Donation protected
This campaign began after a recent trip my mother made to Nicaragua on February of 2016.
She visited a church in a small town in Masaya and met Petrona, a single mother of two who lives in a small place she built herself out of pieces of metal as walls and tin for a roof—with no water, no electricity, or even a toilet.
Petrona shared her story of desperation and newfound hope. Just three years ago, she had lost all hope when after being hit by a car, she was left handicapped and unable to move, much less work for six months. In the midst of tears and desperation she thought of suicide and ending their misery through death as their only escape. Her kids suffering was too much for her to bear. And just when she was at the brink of despair and about to end life as she knew it, she found Hope in Jesus. Through her new faith and by the support of a small local church, Petrona was able to get back on her feet.
Today, Petrona has a job as a maid and able to make ends meet, and is an active member of the church and serving in the community with hope and a smile on her face. But Petrona still lives in a tin house, without any showers, toilets, or electricity. My mother was touched by her story and gifted Petrona a piece of land… a land she can build a real home in. Now, I would like to help Petrona with the help of those willing, to build her a proper shelter she can call home—a home with access to water, electricity and a toilet.
In the US $10,000 buys us many luxuries; but for Petrona, this amount will buy this single mother of two, a safe home and a new life. I would also like to support the local church by providing meals to feed the children.
If you are not able to help financially, would you please help by sharing this campaign link and praying that God would continue to provide and bless this family. We are also collecting used clothing for her family and the community church. If you have any clothing Please message me.
I want to thank you in advance for taking this opportunity to be a blessing to the needy and the less fortunate. I know that God will repay you and bless your good deeds.
Proverbs 19:17 “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will repay him for his deed.”
