My 4 year old pug, Wynona, was diagnosed with a pyometra this last Wednesday 8/20 and needed surgery urgently. She underwent surgery the next day in the evening at a lower cost clinic called L.A. Pet Clinic. The following morning they realized she most likely has aspiration pneumonia after she began showing symptoms and chest x-rays being done, and had to then stay in the vet for 4 days on IV antibiotics, pain medications, fluids, and any other medications she might need. I was originally quoted between $1000-$1500 for the surgery and care, but now with her having been hospitalized for multiple days and needing to go home with multiple antibiotics, the costs have only increased. The initial diagnosis before surgery on 8/20 costed me over $800 due to it being done at regular high-cost vet and the only money I had for a down payment for the surgery was $500 which they were willing to take, but I still have to come up with the rest and am now significantly struggling financially with my own bills and now hers. I appreciate any form of help towards recovering from this and helping with her care, thank you. I have received a $250 donation from Red Rover so far that will be given directly to the vet and have reached out to other organizations and am waiting to hear back.
