My name is Julia Jannetti and I am the Vice President of Community Service at the Alpha Rho chapter of Kappa Delta, University of Maryland. I want to reach out to you all today to explain an initiative that our chapter is working towards.
Child abuse is a widespread epidemic in the United States. The pain and damage that it causes families is irrefutable, but prevention and advocacy against such a terrible crisis is possible. Kappa Delta takes a firm stand against child abuse with its philanthropic contributions to Prevent Child Abuse America.
It is Kappa Delta’s hope to contribute a significant donation to our national philanthropy, Prevent Child Abuse America, and our chapter’s local philanthropy, The Family Tree by October 18th. On this date we are hosting our Second Annual Shamrock Carnival at our chapter house, 4610 College Ave. College Park, MD from 12:00 pm-3:00pm. We hope to remind everyone of the wonderful childhood experiences that we all should have. “Be a kid today, to help a kid tomorrow” is the slogan for the event and a promise we are making to all attendees.
