ULTRA66

Donation protected
On Sunday April 19th, I will attempt my first ever ultramarathon with a distance of 66km. Why 66km? By definition, an ultramarathon is anything further than the marathon distance of 42.2km. My Mom would have been celebrating her 66th birthday on April 19th this year, I want to run a kilometre for each year. The route will be within my 2km exercise radius. My Mom passed away from cancer on July 15th 2018. If she was around today and still battling her illness, I know there is one place she would look to for support, guidance and a community of friends. That place would be Recovery Haven Kerry. My goal is to raise at least €10 per kilometre for a total of €660. All donations, no matter what the size, are more than welcomed.

Recovery Haven require an average of €200,000 annually to keep their doors open and with no State funding available, they rely fully on fundraising and donations. Fundraising is currently at a standstill due to Covid-19 restrictions, so the money raised from this ultramarathon challenge will help keep these invaluable services open via phone and email.

Please donate and share on social media using the hashtag #ULTRA66 – remember that every little really helps.

Thank you for your support.
