UC Davis Lashkara's Road to BA!

Lashkara is the official competitive Hindi Film-Fusion dance team at UC Davis. As a team we are passionate about showcasing our love for dance and inspiring others to share that love, and for the first time we have the chance to do that at the largest Bollywood fusion championship in the world: Bollywood America. 

Our piece this year focuses on the stigma surrounding anxiety and other forms of mental illness. We hope that through our performance we can garner empathy and acceptance towards mental illness and reduce the stigma. Our hard work, dedication, and determination have enabled us to accomplish amazing things this season. This year alone, we've won:
First Place at Bollywood Berkeley
Second Place at Jhoomti Shaam 
Best Choreography at Bollywood Berkeley
Best Storyline at Bollywood Berkeley
Best Male Lead at Bollywood Berkeley, Jhoomti Shaam, and TamashaSD
We aspire to keep achieving bigger and better things, and this GoFundMe was established to help us do exactly that. The production and travel expenses involved in creating a competitive performance are significant, and Lashkara receives zero university funding. All money received will go towards plane tickets and hotel rooms for our team so that we can travel to Dallas, Texas to compete on our most prestigious stage yet.
