In 2019, UCD Formula Student (UCDFS) will become the first ever Irish team to compete in the iMechE Formula Student Electric Competition; Europe's largest and most established student engineering competition!
Our team consists of over 90 UCD engineering and business students, all with the common goal of striving to achieve success for Ireland, in an educational area, which is so important for the future of our country.
In this competition we are tasked with building an Electric Formula-style Race Car, where we will compete against over 600 teams/cars from universities worldwide.
Ireland has been at the forefront of engineering throughout history, from the many Irish men and women who helped build New York City, to Irish born John Philip Holland inventing the World’s First Submarine, to Harry Ferguson who developed the first 4-wheel drive F1 car.
At UCDFS we hope to continue the work of these great Irish innovators far into the future.
We are determined to prove to the world, and ourselves, that not only can Ireland compete on the global stage of engineering, but can WIN!
How can YOU help?
We have traveled a long road to get to where we are, yet we still have a long way to go. We need your help to help us make it over the finish line. Unfortunately, without funding, none of this will be possible, and we won’t be able to build our car.
Any donations, no matter how small, are greatly appreciated.
