Tyrone’s Road to Recovery

Donation protected

Hello My name is Stacy Ann Roberts (Kadine Kelly) sister of Tyrone Roberts, known to many as Fiddla, a well known soccer (football) player, turned Coach from Portmore, St. Catherine. Tyrone born September 5th, 1966, was a physically active individual, lover of sports, a passionate, caring, loving, kind genuine person, who people tends to naturally gravitate towards. He’s blunt, honest and always speaks his mind and tell you how it is. He’s big on family and friends and many will attest that when it comes to friendships, he’s a true, loyal and genuine friend.

While on his visit to Atlanta, on May 20th, 2021 at approximately 2:00pm, Tyrone suffered a Hemorrhagic Stroke (an emergency condition in which a ruptured blood vessel causes bleeding inside the brain) caused from hypertension. The blood eventual spread to other areas of the brain and emergency procedure known as a CSF (cerebrosprial fluid) diversion aka shunt was placed in his brain to reduce the swelling and help with the bleeding. The bleeding in the brain caused him to lose his ability to breathe on his own and he was placed on a ventilator while in an induced coma.

By the grace of God and even though blood is still currently on his brain, the shunt was removed and eventually the ventilator.  There is however, paralysis  on his left side, which is his dominant side.

He is a fighter and has proven he can overcome challenges and obstacles, as he demonstrated from the first stroke he suffered In February 2015, from which he made a full recovery after 2 months of extensive therapy/rehab.

Tyrone progress today is slow and steady, as he continues to fight to overcome and survive this second stroke, which has left him currently paralyzed on his left side and with limited mobility on his right.

He is in need of extensive rehab, due to massive brain bleed and the trauma the brain suffered. Tyrone is now faced with the challenge of relearning how to do EVERYTHING again.

Being a visitor to the USA (Atlanta), has rendered my brother ineligible for any financial assistance regarding his long term daily care, recovery and rehab needs. Rehab & therapy is crucial and key to his recovery and is extremely expensive, but necessary to getting him back to quality of life. For this to be possible assistance from anyone willing to help will be greatly appreciated to begin Tyrone’s critical, life renewing and preserving  journey.
