Hello and thank you so much for clicking on my story. My name is Bella and I am asking for your help on behalf of my village Turague, Camarines Sur, Bicol, Philippines which is in great need of relief funds.
The village was hit by 3 typhoons within the past two weeks. The first typhoon severely damaged homes and before they could start to recover, Super Typhoon Goni aka Rolly (a Signal 5 typhoon) quickly followed and devastated the area.
Turague is a small farming Barangay (village) and my community consists of 150 households and is in a secluded area across a river and accessible by canoe. It is already a poor community that relies on farming to meet their daily needs. Their crops were destroyed, they have no electricity, no food, or clean water.
Turague is still close to my heart and is my homeland. I was born and raised there and left my family to support them from abroad. My father and other siblings still live there with their families and they try to help the community as much as they can. I am able to help them through this calamity but there is such a great need around them and I don’t have enough to help others in the village. The people are going hungry.
All funds donated will be used to buy milk for infants, food for the people, and for roof and other home repair.
I am grateful for ANY amount you can give. No donation is too small.
I personally assure you that this money will go directly to the immediate needs of my community. I will provide updates on the use of the funds as my brother is a community nurse and personally knows the needs of each of the families.
Thank you for your generosity, for being a good neighbor, and for supporting people whom you have never met.
